Clothespin Snowflakes

This easy project would be fun to do with the kids, I don’t know about you but when my kids were at home we were always excited about doing little projects together. This one leaves time in between for hot chocolate and cookies while the glue dries.
You will need just a few things:
8 Clothes pins – I used these half size ones
Wood glue
Twine, ribbon or string
larger clothes pins or something to hold pieces together while the glue is drying.
First step is to take apart your clothespins, if you twist them they come apart easily.
I am not sure what I can do with the little springs, but I feel like they are wanting to be part of something new. I don’t know what yet, but I am going to hang on to mine for a bit and see if something comes to me.
Now glue the flat sides together, points at one end and the thicker part at the other. You just need a small amount of glue.
Clamp them together with your larger clothes pins or whatever you have to do this.
Give the glue a few minutes to dry on these before you start assembling your snowflakes.
I did this on my cutting mat and used the grid-lines to keep the pieces square. You don’t have to do this, but it helped me.
You want to glue the flat sections near the end of the pins, like they are in this picture. Once you have the 4 pieces together put a weight on them and let them sit for 10 minutes or so. I told you there would be time for hot chocolate and cookies. 🙂
